About FIBSEM
2007
The DC Area FIB SEM User Group was formed by Nabil and Keana, both (at that time) from the DC metro area. We were both new to FIB SEM instruments and were looking to connect with other local users without much success until we both flew across the USA to attend the FEI’s FIB User Club Meeting in Hillsboro, Oregon!
2008
Our first meeting was held at NIST with a handful (28 to be specific) of current and future FIB users. It was just to meet other FIBers to discuss our FIB issues and bounce ideas off one another.
2009
Ken joined the team.
2011
The DC Area FIB SEM User Group Meeting became just the FIB SEM User Group meeting and the meetings have grown; now 120 to 150 FIBers participate annually, with representation from all major FIB vendors and attendees from all over the world.
2018
Sam joined the FIB SEM User Group Meeting organizing team as FIB SEM went international.
